Franco Stupaczuk and Miguel Yanguas arrived as one of the men's draw's most dangerous seeded pairs and leave in the round of 16. The world No. 6 and No. 7 were beaten in straight sets by Jero González and Lucas Campagnolo — the standout result on a day when both top-ranked pairs advanced in comfort and an Italian home run lit up the women's draw.

The second set was the hinge. With Stupaczuk and Yanguas unable to convert their way into a decider, the tiebreak went the outsiders' way and the upset was done. No third set required.
The result reshapes that quarter of the men's draw. A seeded pair is gone, and González and Campagnolo — unseeded and unfancied — now have a far kinder path deeper into the tournament than their ranking suggested.

Home interest, and a rollercoaster. Italy's Giulia Dal Pozzo and Nuria Rodríguez take the first set 6-4, are then handed a 6-0 bagel in the second, and recover to win a final-set tiebreak 7-6 against Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno.
The middle set was a blackout — every game surrendered without a hold. But the pair regrouped in the decider, which ran all the way to a tiebreak before Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo held their nerve to advance.
It put them into the quarter-finals, where a far bigger test was waiting.

The upset of the day in the women's draw. Sofia Araujo and Claudia Fernández, the world No. 8 and No. 6, were heavy favourites against a pair anchored by the No. 50 Dal Pozzo. They lose in three.
Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo drop the opening set 3-6 and then take control, closing 6-3, 6-2 as the seeded pair's level dipped. It completes a two-win day for the Italian and her partner, who back up their round-of-16 escape with the biggest result of their run.

No such drama for the world No. 1 pair. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia drop just two games, dispatching David Gala and Enzo Jensen 6-1, 6-1 — the sort of routine afternoon a title favourite wants. A statement of intent, and barely any resistance to answer.
Triay / Brea 6-1 6-1 Martínez Fortún / Escacena
The women's world No. 1 pair matched them game for game. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea also concede just two, beating Patricia Martínez Fortún and Claudia Escacena 6-1, 6-1 to move through in comfort. On this evidence, both top seeds look a level above the field.
The men's draw now has a seeded pair-sized hole in its bottom half, while the women's semi-finals already have their surprise guest in Dal Pozzo and Rodríguez. Coello/Tapia and Triay/Brea, meanwhile, have yet to be truly tested.
