The second set tightened into a tiebreak, but the momentum stayed with the underdogs. They held their nerve through the breaker to win it 7-6 and seal the upset. Stupaczuk and Yanguas, still a relatively young partnership, generated little from the back glass and were forced into the defensive positions all afternoon.
This is a meaningful result for the lower half of the men's draw. With the No. 6 seeds gone, the path to the semifinals opens for whoever emerges from that quarter — and González and Campagnolo have announced themselves as more than a token presence.

An all-or-nothing kind of match. Nuria Rodríguez and home favourite Giulia Dal Pozzo took the first set 6-4, then were blanked in the second — a 6-0 bagel, a complete blackout in which Orsi and Llaguno won every game. The response was the mark of the day.
The decider went to a tiebreak, and there Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo steadied, closing it 7-6 to survive. It was the first of two wins on the day for the pair, and it set up a quarterfinal that would prove even more significant.

Ranked 34 and 50, Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo went into the quarterfinal against the No. 6 and No. 8 as clear underdogs — and beat them. After dropping the opening set 3-6, they reorganised, took control of the net, and reeled off the final two sets 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semifinals.
The turnaround was built on patience: longer rallies, cleaner bandejas to hold court position, and a growing error count from Araújo and Fernández as the match wore on. It is the standout run of the women's draw so far, and it puts an Italian in the last four in front of a home crowd.
