Franco Stupaczuk and Miguel Yanguas are out. The sixth and seventh seeds went down in straight sets to Jeronimo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo, the heaviest fall on a day whose other headline belonged to the home crowd — Italy's Giulia Dal Pozzo, who won twice to reach the semifinals.

The seeding said one thing; the scoreboard said another. Stupaczuk (No. 6) and Yanguas (No. 7) were the clear favourites against a pairing whose ranking aggregate sat some fifteen places lower — Gonzalez at 14, Campagnolo at 21. None of it held.
Gonzalez and Campagnolo took the first set 6-4 and refused to blink in the second. With a decider looming, they held their nerve through the tiebreak to close it out 7-6 — no small thing against a pair that usually thrives when matches go long. Yanguas never settled off the revés side, and Stupaczuk's authority at the net was blunted all afternoon.
The result tears a hole in the men's draw. A quarter that projected around Stupaczuk and Yanguas now opens up for whoever emerges — a meaningful swing in a race where every Major counts toward the season-end standings.

Few wins today were as turbulent. Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo took the opener 6-4, then were bagelled 6-0 in the second — swept off the court without a reply. The third set went the distance and into a tiebreak, which the pair edged 7-6 to survive.
For Dal Pozzo, the local favourite, it was a statement of resilience more than fluency. Orsi and Llaguno, the higher-ranked side, held all the momentum after that second set and could not convert it when it mattered.
The reward was a quarterfinal later the same day — and a chance to make the run count.

Lead with the ranking gap: Fernández (No. 6) and Araujo (No. 8) were heavy favourites against a Dal Pozzo ranked 50th and her partner. The seeds looked the part in a 6-3 first set. Then the match turned.
Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo reeled off the next two sets 6-3, 6-2, tightening their length and forcing the seeds into errors. Playing their second match of the day, they grew stronger as it wore on — the bajada and the glass suddenly working in their favour.
Dal Pozzo is now the story of the tournament: a home run into the semifinals, past two seeded pairs in a single afternoon. The women's draw has lost one of its top-eight seeds and gained a crowd.

No drama at the top. The world No. 1 pair dismissed Gala Sánchez and Jensen Sirvent 6-1, 6-1, dropping just two games across the match. Coello's serve-and-bandeja pattern gave the underdogs nothing to build on.
It is exactly the kind of routine afternoon Coello and Tapia will have wanted, and it keeps the top seeds fresh and on schedule for the business end of the draw.

The women's top seeds matched their male counterparts almost game for game. Triay and Brea needed only 6-1, 6-1 to move through, conceding two games against Martínez Fortún and Escacena.
Brea's vibora and Triay's control from the drive side were too much. The No. 1 seeds have yet to be tested.
The upsets reshape both draws, but the loudest noise tomorrow will come from Dal Pozzo's semifinal — the home player who has already knocked out two seeded pairs and shows no sign of stopping.
