The race to secure a spot among the world's top 10 padel players in 2026 on the Premier Padel Tour is more intense than ever.

The official FIP rankings currently have the pairing of Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello out in front by some distance, marking their dominance throughout this year's Premier Padel Tour.

But Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto have been the best of the rest, making significant progress since they first teamed up in late 2024.

After winning the Premier Padel Miami P1 in March 2025, Chingalan, the nickname of Chingotto and Galan, have closed the gap on the top pairing of Coello and Tapia.

How do the official FIP padel rankings work?

Rankings in Premier Padel are determined based on player performance across different tournaments.

The score itself is determined by the player's overall points gained from competitions in the last 12 months

You may see the official FIP padel rankings fluctuate on a daily basis. This is because of the 12-month window for points is quite literal.

Let's say a player received 1,200 points 12 months and 1 day ago, then these points are no longer counted towards the player's padel ranking points.

Here’s how ranking points are distributed:

• Premier Padel Major (4 events)
  • Winners: 2,000 points
  • Finalists: 1,200 points
• Premier Padel P1 (10 events)
  • Winners: 1,000 points
  • Finalists: 600 points
• Premier Padel P2 (9 events)
  • Winners: 600 points
  • Finalists: 360 points
• Premier Padel Finals (1 event)
  • Winners: 1,500 points
  • Finalists: N/A

Seeding is based on ranking points, with a random draw determining matchups within seeded groups.

The top four pairings will receive a seeding, meaning that they cannot face one-another until the semi-finals.

The top four men's padel pairings also receive a bye for the first two rounds in P1 tournaments, meaning that they will enter the competition in the round of 16.

When are the Official FIP padel rankings updated?

The FIP padel rankings are updated and released 24 hours after the final match of all P1, P2, Major and Final competitions. They are not appended in real-time.
