Araujo and Fernández took the opening set 6-3, but the momentum turned hard after that. Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo won the second 6-3 and ran away with the third 6-2, closing out a second three-set win on a single day.
Dal Pozzo, playing in front of a home crowd, is into the semifinals from outside the world's top 40. Two three-set wins in one day — one of them after conceding a bagel — is a heavy shift, and it makes her the story of the women's draw.
